The Importance of Branding

What is a brand? It is; a name, term, concept, design, symbol, and any other feature that identifies your product and/or service from others in the market, it is your promise to your customers, it is the expectation of your customers from you. It is an intangible emotional relationship between you and your customers and that relationship is loyalty.

 

 

Branding is when these perceptions are recognizable and are built on positive brand perception, but a good brand doesn’t just happen, it is based on a strong idea and a strategic plan, it shouldn’t be neglected, it should be used to build the expectation you want to get from your target market.

 

People tend to purchase a product and/or service from a brand they trust and are familiar with, a brand that is recognized by the public and that is very important as we humans we are trained to like the familiar, and by that we save time, for example when a customer walks into a supermarket to buy Shampoo he/she would go with a strong familiar Shampoo to save time, as well as the association with this Shampoo from a previous interaction or maybe a referral. In addition to successful associations and recognition, it sets you apart from your competition, it makes you stand out and not apart.

 

Successful branding is not by stamping trademarks on everything; it is guiding and managing long-term loyal relationships with your customers which lead to long-term profitability. Branding gives people a purpose of purchasing your product/service, it confirms your credibility and shows the values of your product/service.
